Little Gasaprilla Island

Little Gasparilla Island is a barrier island just two hours south of Pinellas County. It is just north of Boca Grande on Gasparilla Island, separated by Gasparilla Pass.

Little Gasparilla Island is a hidden treasure centered between Sarasota and Ft. Myers on Florida’s West Coast. The island is only accessible by private boat or water taxi and is predominantly single family homes, around 350, which are mostly part-time residents. There is a condominium complex, Hideaway Beach Club, with 102 units and exclusive ferry service to and from the island. There are no formal commercial establishments on the island such as restaurants or grocery stores. There are however several great waterfront restaurants in our area that are just a short boat ride away. On the mainland there are many restaurants, grocery stores and shopping all within a short distance of the island. There is a small non-denomination church on the island that provides services at many different times during the year. There are no paved roads on the island, only miles of sandy trails flanked by tropical foliage. Take long leisurely walks or travel by golf cart down these paths to explore the beauty of the island. The peaceful, uncrowded beach provides plenty of room for you to bathe in the sun all day, enjoy outstanding shelling, bird watching, swimming, playing with your children, and beautiful water views but best of all, the brilliant sunsets at the end of each perfect day. There is great fishing to be had in Placida Harbor for Snook, Trout, Redfish, Snapper and more, and in the world famous Boca Grande Pass you can try your hand at Tarpon fishing. Little Gasparilla Island is the ideal place to get away from the mainland madness. Come relax and unwind in a secluded tropical paradise.

Knight Island (the most northern island bordered to the north by Stump Pass), Don Pedro island (the “middle island), and Little Gasparilla island, the most southerly island, were originally three separate islands, divided by passes. When the pass between Knight Island and Don Pedro, and the pass between Don Pedro and Little Gasparilla Island closed (sometime in the 1960’s) the islands became one, with more than seven miles of white pristine beach.

Little Gasparilla Island is the ideal secluded hideaway for those seeking a respite from the hectic pace of the mainland and the hassles of everyday life. Escape to Little Gasparilla Island where you can Stay a Week or a Lifetime!
